The SIR Bowling Tournament Average (SBTA) has been calculated as of September 30, 2024.

An active bowling program exists for many SIR branches.  SIR bowlers enjoy weekly bowling leagues, regional tournaments and state tournaments.  Join a SIR bowling league and enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow Sirs while getting some indoor exercise.

To locate a league in your area, contact your branch or area bowling chairman.  If you can't locate either contact a State Bowling Committee member.

There are various branches sponsoring several tournaments a year in California and Nevada.

No experience necessary.  Many members only start bowling after becoming a member of SIR.  It is never too late.

SIR Bowling Tournament Average (SBTA)
2024 Notes

SBTA Rules:

  1. Bowlers with 2023 SBTA will have their SBTA copied to the 2024 SBTA. These bowlers can use these averages until they get 18 games - then they can use their 2024 SBTA.

  2. Bowlers who bowled in 2023, but bowled less than 18 games, will be on the 2024 list and their 2023 total
games and scores will be copied to the 2024 database.
They will have an SBTA when they have bowled 18 games in 2023 and 2024.

  3. Bowlers who did not bowl in 2023 must bowl 18 games or more in 2024 to receive a SBTA.

Refresh:

The averages will be recalculated and posted to our website four times each year near the end of each quarter (March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 31).  Also, an interim refresh may be done when the Executive Committee feels that it is beneficial for the bowlers.

Multiple Participation:

  1. A bowler may participate in multiple doubles and team events if allowed by the tournament.  Singles may be bowled only once.

  2. All games will be recorded for SBTA average and game count purposes.

Incomplete Games:

If a bowler is unable to complete three whole games in an event, no games will be recorded for that event.

Questions about SBTA:

Please send an email to Art Tourtillott if you have any questions or comments regarding the SIR Bowling Tournament Average (SBTA).
