NEWS: The Fireside tournament has changed to Wednesday March 4 from Thursday March 5.
SBTA NEWS: See the "SBTA Rules" section at the bottom of this page.
NEW COMMITTEE MEMBER: Sir Jim Erickson from Branch 128  has agreed to be the Chairman.  Jim is giving us a person who is a good helper and a friendly salesman.

An active bowling program exists for many SIR branches.  SIR bowlers enjoy weekly bowling leagues, regional tournaments and state tournaments.  Join a SIR bowling league and enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow Sirs while getting some indoor exercise.

To locate a league in your area, contact your branch or area bowling chairman.  If you can't locate either, contact a State Bowling Committee member.

There are various branches sponsoring several tournaments a year in California and Nevada.

No experience necessary.  Many members only start bowling after becoming a member of SIR.  It is never too late.

SIR Bowling Tournament Average (SBTA) 2026 Notes
As of 12-13-2025

After much thought and conversation with SIR Bowling Committee leaders, the SBTA has been changed and is clarified below.

  • A bowler must have bowled 12 SIR Tournament games in a calendar year (January – December) in order to have a valid SBTA.

·        A prior year SBTA (12 games or more) will be used until a bowler has bowled 12 games in the current year. A bowler establishes a new SBTA when they have bowled 12 games in the current year.

·        All games bowled in a SIR Tournament will be used when calculating SBTA. If a bowler is injured and a game is not completed, that game will not be used. However, all other full games bowled in the series will be used.

·        SBTA  calculations will be updated after each tournament.

Multiple Participation:

  • A bowler may participate in multiple doubles and team events if allowed by the tournament.  Singles may be bowled only once.

Questions about SBTA:
